Book recommendation by Laura, Klasse 5 A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading long books that include fantasy and mythical magic. The main character, Gemma Doyle discovered that she and her friends had magical powers. These powers made them disappear through a door of light, where they would eventually end up in a world full of colour and happiness. There they could wish for anything, e.g. a knight in shining armour.
Furthermore the story is also set in victorian times. Gemma was sent by her brother to a school for girls after her mother had been murdered. There she needed to learn how to be a perfect British lady. There she learned how to walk, how to talk and how to eat. She also needed to learn to speak French, how to sing and how to draw.
The author has added a lot of details such as what Gemma things about the ideas and opinions of her friends, e.g. When she was rude to someone she thought in her head "sorry, so sorry,can't explain myself sorry". I think it was a good idea to add what Gemma thought about some ideas and opinions because it helps the reader understand her character better.
I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone over 10 because it uses language younger children wouldn't understand. The author also uses bad words like bastard and hell. All in all the book was very good and I enjoyed it.

It is a magical book, because the main character Liliane Susewind, can speak with all kinds of animals. When she laughs, the plants start to grow and look enchanted. Many interesting adventures happen in the book, and when you start it, you never want to stop. It explains many serious facts about horses, like Liliane fights against cruelty to animals! The book is full of fantasy and magic, but some parts are also really exciting and informative.

My nice Brother is a story about two brothers that lived in the 1700s in Stockholm, Sweden. Their father works at the shipyard as a carpenter. One day when the family was out walking a shooting star crossed the sky. At that time people thought it was a bad Omen. Since then one brother was called the nice one and the other brother the bad one.
One bay the king gave the command to build a large ship. At that time ships always had a Lucky Coin under the big mast. In this ship the commander gave the order to a highly-ranked officer to put the Lucky Coin under the mast. But he lost it. The ship already sank in the port. Two hundred years later we know the truth. The nice brother had stolen it. This story partly happened in real life. The book is very nice!

Harry Potter hat eine blitzförmige Narbe auf der Stirn, weil Voldemort ihn töten wollte. Doch Harry überlebte! Das Buch ist einfach toll!

Book recommendation by Mats, Klasse 5 Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul by Jeff Kinney The Wimpy kid is a very funny book with lots of humor. It is even an international bestseller! It is written in diary form. There are many parts, when I wrote this recommendation “The long haul” was the ninth part. This diary is about a road trip that is turning into lots of chaos. Actually Greg wanted to stay at home but his mum wouldn't let him stay. When Manny, Gregs little brother, wins a pig it is definitely turning into an adventure. With crazy seagulls and an car accident Jeff Kinney is using lots of funny but crazy humor. I just hope that people like the book so much like me but when you like crazy humor you will also like this book.

Dort engagieren sie einen Privatdetektiv, der den beiden folgen soll. Der mysteriöse Herr der Diebe ist aber gar nicht so arm wie er tut. Sie hat die Rebellion gestartet. Als sie dann zum Jubeljubiläum noch mal in die Hunger Spiele muss, ist sie sehr geschockt. Diesmal muss sie gegen erfahrene Krieger kämpfen, anstatt gegen Leute, die noch nie ein Schwert in der Hand hatten. Diesmal kümmert sie sich auch nicht um ihr eigenes Leben, sondern tut alles um Peetas zu retten. Im Trainingscenter lernt sie auch neue Leute kennen und sie kann sich nicht vorstellen, sie töten zu müssen. Die Arena ist auch wegen des Jubeljubiläums gefährlicher. Lasst die 75. Hunger Spiele beginnen!

This book is about 7 demigods (half god half man) who have an important quest to close the doors of death. When they fail all greek or roman monsters can always come back when killed. Also Gaia the earth goddess is waking and wants to destroy the world with the help of her giants.
The book is the 4th part of a series from Rick Riordan. The book has 583 pages and is a very exciting book.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

The story is about 4 children that leave their home because of war. They come to a house of an old professor. He was in Narnia once already but the 4 children don't know about the magic in this house.
On a rainy day the 4 children decide to play hide and seek in the house. Lucy, the youngest of the children, gets the great idea to hide in the wardrobe, and gets to find Narnia first. There she meets a faun that saves her life.
Afterwards Susan, Peter, and Edmund don't believe that there is a place like narnia. Later on all of the children get to Narnia, but see that the faun Tumnus got captured. They decide that they must rescue him.
Then they see a talking beaver and together they go search for Aslan the big Lion which is the real king of Narnia. But there is a bad witch in Narnia and they decide to fight against her an win. They go to Mr. Tumnus and all are super happy.
Peter, Edmund, Susan, and Lucy become kings and queens of Narnia. After about ten years they go back in our world and are as old as when they went.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes animals.
